Amelia Garvey
New Zealand representative golfer Amelia Garvey was born in England, but her golfing journey started on the small practice grounds of the Kaiapoi Golf Club in New Zealand, at the age of 6.
Being the tomboy she is, she played several sports growing up, so she only had time to play golf a few days a week. On the days she could play, she’d be out there from dawn until dusk. Amelia would often find herself begging to be picked up later than her parents wanted due to her absolute obsession with the sport.
As an all-around athlete, Amelia has been able to develop skills that have enhanced her game further than some of her competitors. Amelia’s different perspective and accomplishments set her apart, allowing her to be a strong, positive female influence in the game of golf.
This is what drives Amelia to push her limits, be creative, and curious to try new things that have never been done.
Amelia began her professional golf career in 2022 on the Epson Tour and just missed qualifying for the full LPGA tour in 2023. She is again on the Epson Tour in 2023 and recently qualified for the US Women’s Open to be held at Pebble Beach 5-9 July.
