Why join the Kaiapoi Golf Club?
We are known as a friendly club, you will be made to feel welcome from your first contact with our office staff. You will meet people from all walks of life who love their golf, enjoy being part of a community club and enjoy having fun!
Our club was founded in 1907 and is situated just 20 minutes north of Christchurch. Our well maintained 18 hole course is a combination of links and parkland styles. It has well groomed undulating fairways and smooth rolling greens. A computerised irrigation system keeps the course green in summer and a sandy base ensures it is one of the driest courses in Canterbury during the winter.
The course offers a fair challenge for players of all abilities but is slightly shorter than some others, which is good for beginners or older players, and means 18 holes can usually be completed in just over 3 hours, a bonus for busy people! Alternatively, you can play just 9 holes if you wish.
We have several practice areas and have a connection with a local professional coach should you want lessons. We also have golf carts and golf clubs available for hire.
We have a wide range of membership options, so there is sure to be an option that suits your particular situation. Our membership fees are very competitive and we offer flexible payment options. Most of our memberships also include some free rounds at our sister clubs Waimairi Beach and Bottle Lake.
We run a full competition schedule which includes:
- Saturday morning or afternoon – with a shotgun start once a month
- Tuesday morning – 9 holers and ladies
- Thursday morning – shotgun start
- Monthly open tournament – last Wednesday of the month (12pm shotgun start)
- Twilight – Wednesdays from 4pm during summer months (12 holes)
We also enter teams in inter-club competitions. But if you aren’t into competitions then you are always welcome just to have a casual round if you prefer.
Our clubhouse has a fully equipped cafe/restaurant and bar with a full licence and is open at least 6 days a week for members and the general public. So after your round, you can enjoy wonderful views and refreshments as you wind down with your playing partners.

Full Active
Men or Women – full playing rights on all days.
Mid-week
Men or Women – full playing rights from Monday to Friday.
9 Holer
Men or Women – play 9 holes on any day except Saturday; if wanting to play 18 holes some days just pay a $10 green fee for the extra 9 holes.
Juniors
We have Under 21, Under 18 and Junior Beginner membership categories, all with reduced fees. We also provide coaching programmnes specifically for junior golfers.
Secondary
For Men or Women who are members of other golf clubs – full playing rights and fees are extremely reasonable.
